Framing

We offer a wide range of framing options for your art. While this page presents the most popular options, framing consultation is best done in person. We want to see the work while helping you decide on style, colours. We want to talk about the story behind the art and how we can use that to motivate creative choices.

Float-Mount

A float-mount consists of a back mounted print that is centred and attached within a frame, away from the sides and back of the moulding. It’s called a float mount because it looks like it’s floating inside the frame.

Object Mount

Instead of a flat print, three-dimensional objects can be framed similarly to a shadowbox. This is a great way of preserving an object while creating a beautiful display.

Shadow Box

A shadowbox is a flat print that requires platform mounting to give dimensionality. The depth of the “box” is determined by the size of the moulding.

Canvas Stretching

A coated canvas print is stretched around a back-frame. This style is lightweight and easy to hang.

Canvas Float Frame

For a more polished and complete look, a stretched canvas can be framed with a floating frame.

Custom Frames with Mat

The most common and most popular look; an acid-free mat in a wide variety of colours are used to add decoration to any piece of art. They can have multiple layers or multiple openings.

Additional Info

For items with monetary, investment or sentimental value (photographs, letters, certificates, original drawings, etc.) we suggest special framing techniques to prevent damage that can occur naturally over time.

Mounting is done using acid-free products (tape, foam core, matting, etc). Removal of the art at a later stage is possible and the art can be easily restored to its original, unframed condition.
